General Information

The Port Allen Community Center, originally opened in the mid-1930s, has undergone numerous renovations and improvements over its history. It is now known as the West Baton Rouge Community Center. Surrounded by 100-year-old oak trees and located next to the West Baton Rouge Parish Museum, this venue provides a beautiful and convenient setting for any event.

Facility Amenities

Capacity: 432 guests (without tables & chairs), 216 guests (with tables & chairs).
Stage Usage: The use of the built-in stage is available upon request. However, selecting this feature may reduce the maximum capacity. Contact the Parks & Recreation Office for details on adjusted capacity limits.
Tables & Chairs: 34 round tables (60”), 20 rectangular tables (3’x6’), and approximately 750 chairs (400 vinyl, banquet-style & 350 metal).
Commercial Kitchen: Fully equipped for catering and food preparation.
Wet Bar with Ice Maker: Convenient beverage preparation area.
Sound System & Projector: Built-in AV system for presentations and events.
Public WiFi: Complimentary WiFi access for guests.
Covered Drive-Thru Entrance: Easy guest drop-off and accessibility.
Covered Outdoor Cooking Area: Perfect for BBQs and outdoor food preparation.
Playground & Splash Pad: Available for recreational use.
Two Tennis Courts: Available for community play.
Meeting Room: Available for weekday rentals (Monday–Thursday only, not available on weekends).

Booking Guidelines

Resident Priority: Only West Baton Rouge Parish residents may reserve the center.
Proof of Residency Required: Must provide a driver’s license, voter registration card, or two current bills with the renter’s name and address.
Advance Wedding Reservations: Residents booking weddings can reserve up to one year in advance.

Rental Fees

Weekend Rental (Fri-Sun): $250 per day + $250 refundable deposit.
Weekday Rental (Mon-Thurs): $125 per day + $250 refundable deposit.
Wedding Bookings: $500 total (booking fee + deposit) due at the time of reservation.
Accepted Payments: Check, Money Order, or Credit/Debit Card (3% non-refundable convenience fee applies). NO CASH.

Port Allen Pavilion

A Large Covered Pavilion for Outdoor Events

Pavilion General Information

The large covered pavilion at the Port Allen Community Center is also available for booking. It includes a concession stand and restrooms. Along with the pavilion, guests have access to the scenic grounds, playground, and splash pad.

Dimensions: Approximately 65 ft x 170 ft.
Built-in Stage: Ideal for performances and announcements.
Concession Stand: Available for food and beverage service.
Restrooms: Separate facilities from the community center.
Basketball Goals: Available for recreational use.
Fans & Lighting: Provides comfort and visibility for events.

Pavilion Rental Fees

Booking Fee: $75 per day (due at the time of booking).
Refundable Deposit: $100 (due at the time of booking).
